Simmons Gainsford, Part of the Sumer Group Announces Promotion of Three New Partners

Simmons Gainsford is proud to announce the promotion of three outstanding professionals – Chris Cheung, Nick Weller, and Tom Jeffries to the position of Partner, reflecting the firm’s continued investment in leadership and excellence across its service lines.

Chris Cheung, who joined the firm in 2016, has extensive experience across a wide range of industries including corporate services, retail, and travel. A fluent Cantonese speaker, Chris is also a key member of the Far East Helpdesk, supporting East Asian companies operating in the UK. He said: “Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to have the unwavering support of my friends, family, and colleagues. I’m especially grateful to my team, whose dedication and contributions played a crucial role in making this achievement possible. I’m excited to take on the new challenges that await me!”

Nick Weller arrived in 2016 and leads a broad portfolio of clients, providing expert audit, advisory, and strategic growth services. Nick specialises in supporting charitable and entrepreneurial clients, helping them navigate opportunities in a complex and evolving business landscape. He said: “I’m incredibly grateful for the trust, support, and collaboration that brought me here and I am looking forward to further driving forward the success of Simmons Gainsford and the Sumer Group.”

Tom Jeffries joined Simmons Gainsford in 2013 and, with more than a decade of experience in the property sector, provides specialist advice and insight to clients in this space. He also chairs the firm’s training and development team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the careers of future professionals. He said: “I’m honoured to be made a Partner and I do so with deep gratitude for the colleagues, mentors, and friends who have supported me throughout my career. Their guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in shaping both my professional path and personal growth. I look forward to building on that foundation as I take on this exciting new role.”
